| PSSDC to Undergo Institutional
Transformation -Akinyemi Public Service Staff Development Centre, PSSDC, has concluded plans to undergo institutional transformation. This development was made public by the Deputy Director, Training, of PSSDC, Mrs. Faith B. Akinyemi, She made the disclosure during the courtesy visit of public relations officers of component executing agencies of Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project, LMDGP. According to Akinyemi, the vision to be a world class training research centre through technology driven workforce will entail attitude change of the staff, which is key in transformation. The curriculum will be expanded to accommodate the private and the public sectors. Courses offered will be relevant in management development, metropolitan development and information technology. Championing this transformation, according to Engr. Kehinde Akinola, the Project Director is LMDGP, which is providing the technical assistance. Earlier in the year, LMDGP invited both local and international consultants to bid for the repositioning of the centre. The Ministry of Training and Establishment is equally on board to ensure that the centre is given its right place in manpower developing. The Deputy Director Finance and Accounts, Mr. Olujimi Ige further explained that funding has hindered the centre from developing according to the initial set plans. Consequent upon this, to improve LMDGP development objective, after discussion with government counterparts, it agreed that the World Bank institute be responsible for design and supervision of the new restructured component. The PROs present during this visit included Bosede Martins, Bolode Olusiji, Olufemi Allen Ipinlaiye and Gabriel Oladele Johnson. LMDGP is a $200 million World Bank assisted project of the Lagos State Government to increase sustainable access to basic urban services through investments in critical infrastructure. Next >> |
