The Ikwerre LGA party chairman of the Action Congress party who is also the CDC chairman of Omuangunwo/ Omuagwo community in the same LGA, Comrade Samuel Kininkanwo has stated that his party will support Governor Rotimi Amaechi if he decides to seek a second tenure in office.

Speaking recently to the Niger Delta standard newspaper in Igwuruta, he said: "The current cordial relationship between the AC and PDP is not bad as long as there is convenience and there are still checks and balances.

It was generally agreed we should support him in the unity government and if is working. The only thing is we forbid a member carrying two party cards. Also, Amaechi has done well in the past two years. Rivers people should allow him continue. There is nothing bad in AC supporting him for a second tenure", he posited.

Kininkanwo, who just got re-elected as the CDC chairman for a second time, advised Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to fill the shoes of ailing President Yar'Adua till he returns.

"In law, administration does not allow a vacuum. Jonathan should be empowered to act in his capacity, the eight years North and eight years South arrangement of the PDP not withstanding", he stated and lamented the killing of Amb. Ajuru while urging security agencies to step up their acts. He concluded by advising youths to shun violence and think of meaningful things to engage in as leadership is turn by turn.
